Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his spouse Dhanashree Verma have taken steps to file for divorce. The rumor of their separation has been circulating on social media for several months. Both have posted ambiguous messages online, suggesting they have parted ways. However, neither of them has openly addressed the situation to explain the reasons behind their decision. Reports indicated that the couple’s final hearing and all required formalities occurred at the Bandra Family Court on Thursday, where they were both present. Nonetheless, Dhanashree’s attorney stated that the proceedings are still ongoing.
“I have no comments to make on the proceedings; the matter is currently sub judice. The media should verify facts before publishing, as a lot of misleading information is being shared,” Dhanashree’s lawyer Aditi Mohan stated in a press release on Friday.
As per a report from ABP News, the judge suggested that the couple consider counseling, which lasted approximately 45 minutes. Following the session, the judge learned that both parties were interested in separating by mutual consent.
Additionally, it was disclosed that Chahal and Dhanashree had been living apart for the last 18 months. When questioned regarding the reasons for their divorce, the couple cited ‘compatibility issues’ as the primary concern.
Chahal posted a message on social media just before the final hearing that stated: “God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen.”

Dhanashree also posted a message about faith on her Instagram. “From stressed to blessed. Isn’t it incredible how God can transform our worries and trials into blessings? If you’re troubled about something today, remember that you have a choice. You can continue worrying, or you can surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything. There is power in having faith that God can work all things together for your good.”
While neither explicitly mentioned the word divorce in their posts, the essence of their messages is quite revealing.
