Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro Feature Wi-Fi Connectivity, Enhanced Performance in Redmi Book Pro 16 (2025)

Xiaomi’s recent event showcased the highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 Ultra, alongside the new Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro and the powerful Redmi Book Pro 16 (2025) laptop. The Buds 5 Pro feature Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, enabling lossless audio up to 96kHz/24-bit when paired with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. They boast 55dB Active Noise Cancellation, up to 10 hours of battery life, and customizable touch controls. The Redmi Book Pro 16 (2025) is equipped with a second generation Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, impressive graphics, a 165Hz display, and a long battery life, offering powerful performance for users.

The launch of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra was undoubtedly the standout moment of today’s Xiaomi event; however, the company also unveiled impressive new TWS earbuds and a robust 16” laptop that deserve attention.

While most wireless headphones rely on Bluetooth, the Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro do too, achieving speeds up to 2.1Mbps via the Snapdragon S7+ audio platform. This allows for 48kHz/24-bit lossless audio.

When paired with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, these earbuds introduce a new feature – they can utilize Wi-Fi to increase the bitrate to 4.2Mbps, supporting 96kHz/24-bit lossless audio.

Utilizing Wi-Fi also provides the advantage of Qualcomm’s XPAN technology—eXpanded Personal Area Network. This feature extends the headphones’ range throughout your home while keeping power consumption minimal. XPAN supports high-bandwidth audio, low latency, and even immersive audio with head tracking. Do note that the Wi-Fi functionality is available exclusively with the Phantom Black version of the buds; the other two colors only support Bluetooth.

The Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro are equipped with dual DACs and dual amplifiers that drive two drivers. Their frequency response ranges from 15Hz to 50kHz, with audio fine-tuned by Harman’s Golden Ears team to enhance the details in mid and high frequencies.

With three microphones integrated, these earbuds provide 55dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and are capable of cancelling out high wind speeds of up to 15m/s. According to the company, they offer double the noise reduction capabilities of the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro.

Battery performance is noteworthy – offering up to 8 hours of continuous use via Bluetooth and up to 10 hours when using Wi-Fi. The charging case extends the total listening time to 40 hours, with both wired and wireless charging options available.

The earbuds have an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. They also allow audio sharing, enabling the connection of two pairs of buds to a single device. The stems on the earbuds are both touch and pressure sensitive, allowing volume control by sliding your finger or applying a two-finger squeeze (this action can be customized).
