Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Set to Launch in India on March 11

Xiaomi is set to launch the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra in India on March 11, 2025, at 12 PM IST. This announcement follows their introduction in select global markets ahead of MWC 2025. The Xiaomi 15 features a 6.36-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and a Leica-branded camera system. It includes a 5,240mAh battery with fast charging. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra boasts a larger 6.73-inch AMOLED screen, quad camera setup, and enhanced zoom capabilities, with a 5,410mAh battery. Both models will likely retain global specifications for the Indian market.

The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra are set to debut in India later this month. This announcement followed the introduction of the 15 series in select global markets just ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. The standard model made its initial appearance in China in October last year, alongside the Xiaomi 15 Pro, which remains exclusive to China. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra was unveiled in China on February 28.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Xiaomi India’s official account announced that the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra will launch on March 11 at 12 PM IST. The post featured the Ultra model in a Silver Chrome colour option, whereas the standard model showcased the Bright Silver colourway.

Specifications of the Xiaomi 15 Global Variant

While the specifications for the Indian version of the Xiaomi 15 smartphone are expected to mirror those of the global variant, the company has yet to confirm this. The global model boasts a 6.36-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, available with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage.

This smartphone features a Leica-branded triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle shooter. For selfies and video calls, it is equipped with a 32-megapixel front camera.

It is supported by a 5,240mAh battery, offering 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The Chinese variant operates on the Android 15-based HyperOS 2 operating system.

Specifications of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra Global Variant

Released recently in selected global markets, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a 6.73-inch WQHD+ quad-curved LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with configurations available of up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage.

The Ultra model offers a quad rear camera system, with all lenses fine-tuned by Leica. The camera array includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with a 1-inch type LYT-900 sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP9 periscope telephoto camera with 4.3x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, a 32-megapixel front camera is present.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is powered by a 5,410mAh battery, providing 90W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging. It also has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
