She mentioned that the fast bowlers might receive some assistance early on and expressed the desire for them to “capitalize” on the conditions. Mumbai made one alteration to the lineup that triumphed over Royal Challengers Bengaluru, with Jintimani Kalita replacing Parunika Sasodia to introduce an extra pace-bowling option. Kalita participated in ten matches for Mumbai in the previous WPL but bowled in only four games, claiming one wicket at an economy rate of 7.40.
Warriorz captain Deepti Sharma also preferred to bowl first. They kept the same XI that secured a thrilling Super Over victory against RCB. Chamari Athapaththu continued to sit on the bench.
