Toss Delhi Capitals opted to bowl against Gujarat Giants

In line with the prevailing trend in WPL 2025, Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Meg Lanning chose to field first after winning the toss against Gujarat Giants (GG) in Bengaluru. Lanning anticipates her bowlers will capture early wickets to pressure the opposition.

DC made one alteration to their lineup, bringing in Titas Sadhu for Arundhati Reddy. Reddy’s performance with the ball this season has been underwhelming, taking four wickets in four matches but conceding runs at 9.97 per over. Lanning mentioned that Sadhu has been “bowling well in the nets”.

GG captain Ash Gardner expressed that the week off was beneficial for her team to reset after a demanding schedule of three matches in quick succession. She also noted the expectation of “a lot more bounce” at this venue compared to Vadodara.

One of the square boundaries is much shorter than the other—51 metres compared to 63 metres—providing the batters an opportunity to take advantage of that. The straight boundary measures 67 metres.

Currently, GG sits at the bottom of the points table with two points from three matches. DC is just above them with two wins and two losses from four games. Both teams are coming off a defeat.
