A 33-year-old woman was reportedly gang-raped at a hotel in Koramangala, according to police on Friday.
Three suspects have been apprehended, and the incident occurred around midnight on Thursday, they stated.
The victim is employed in catering services and provides food at events, police disclosed.
In her report, the victim—who is married—claimed that while waiting at Jyothi Nivas College junction, four men in their 20s approached her and struck up a conversation. After forming a rapport, they invited her for dinner at a hotel, police noted.
Post-dinner, they allegedly made sexual advances and subsequently gang-raped her on the terrace of a private hotel.
They threatened her against revealing the incident to anyone and let her go around 6 am on Friday, a senior police official mentioned.
Upon returning home, she recounted the ordeal to her husband and reported it to the police, he added.
All suspects are from another state and are employed in hotels, he clarified.
“Following the complaint, we have registered a case at Koramangala police station under Section 70 (gang rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and apprehended three of the accused. The fourth suspect has also been identified, and efforts are being made to arrest him,” Joint Commissioner (East) Ramesh Banoth told PTI.
