They condemned the allegations surrounding their handling of Kim Sae-ron’s 2022 incident and expressed sorrow over her passing on February 16, 2025. Gold Medalist urged the public and media to refrain from spreading unverified claims that contribute to cyberbullying.

Gold Medalist, the agency representing Kim Soo Hyun, has categorically denied the allegations presented by the YouTube channel “Garo-SEO Research Institute” (Gaseyeon) concerning an alleged past relationship between the actor and the late actress Kim Sae-ron. The agency denounced these claims as “clear falsehoods” and is contemplating legal action.
In a statement released on March 10, Gold Medalist addressed assertions made during Gaseyeon’s broadcast, which claimed that Kim Soo Hyun was involved in a six-year relationship with Kim Sae-ron, starting in 2015 when she was a minor at 15 and he was 27. These rumors gained attention again after Kim Sae-ron posted and then quickly removed a selfie with Kim Soo Hyun on Instagram on March 23, 2024.
Dismissing these accusations, the agency commented, “The claims made by Garo-SEO Research Institute regarding actor Kim Soo-hyun via a YouTube broadcast are clear falsehoods.” They also responded to further allegations, such as an alleged collaboration with YouTuber Lee Jin-ho to harass Kim Sae-ron and inappropriate handling of her 2022 DUI incident. “All of these accusations are falsehoods that cannot be ignored, and we are evaluating the most stringent legal actions we can take,” they added.
While expressing condolences over Kim Sae-ron’s death, the agency stated, “We express our sincere sorrow at the news of the late Kim Sae-ron’s passing, who once collaborated with our agency, and we grieve for her. However, the spreading of such false information by Gaseyeon echoes the behavior of what is known as ‘cyber bullying’ that the deceased battled during her life.”
Gold Medalist urged the public and media to refrain from circulating unverified claims: “We humbly request that these unfounded falsehoods do not continue to be disseminated, amplified, or reproduced.”
Kim Sae-ron was found unresponsive at her home on February 16, 2025. A friend discovered her and notified authorities, but she sadly passed away at the age of 25.
