Weekly Poll Findings: The Oppo Find X8 Ultra, X8s, and X8s+ Generate Buzz, Yet Availability Remains a Concern

The new Oppo Find X8 phones are impressive, but their lack of global availability limits access for many fans. The Find X8 Ultra received strong interest, with half of voters expressing a desire to purchase it. Some may attempt to import it despite potential 5G compatibility issues. While the X8 Ultra’s price is debated, its high-quality camera justifies the cost. The Find X8s also gained popularity, though interest waned for the smaller form factor. The X8s+ is considered less exciting but still appeals to a niche market. More reviews and comparisons, including the X8 Ultra, are expected soon.

This is disappointing – not the new Oppo Find X8 phones, last week’s survey indicates they’re quite impressive. What’s really frustrating is the lack of plans for global availability, which leaves many fans without the chance to purchase one, even if it’s their preferred choice.

The Oppo Find X8 Ultra was received with great enthusiasm – half of the voters expressed they would buy one if given the opportunity. Some fans are so eager that they’re considering importing one, despite the potential complications (for instance, does it even support the necessary 5G bands?).

Some believe the X8 Ultra carries a hefty price tag, but a premium camera flagship was never expected to be budget-friendly. We currently have one for review, so look out for a comprehensive report coming soon. In the meantime, feel free to check out our spontaneous camera comparison between the Find X8 Ultra and the X7 Ultra to see how the new model compares to one of 2024’s standout devices. Additionally, we have a photo tour of Xi’an for your viewing pleasure. Both phones are likely to maintain their camera quality and performance over time, which somewhat justifies their cost.

The Oppo Find X8s garnered almost as much support, with nearly half of the votes in its favor. The numbers could have been even better if we removed the count of those uninterested in a compact flagship (they could always opt for an X8s+ or an X8 Ultra).

Compact – not minuscule but compact – flagships are quite uncommon. A screen size of 6.2-6.3” appears to be the ideal range, especially since only 3.5% of voters want something smaller (this trend is supported by the sales figures of smaller devices, which are rather low).

Weekly poll results: the Oppo Find X8 Ultra, X8s and X8s+ are hot stuff, but availability is an issue

As expected, the Oppo Find X8s+ attracts the least excitement of the three new models – it’s a nice but incremental upgrade from the X8. Nonetheless, there remains a sizable potential audience for this variant, provided it receives a global launch.

With the Find X8s+, favorable reviews and perhaps a price reduction could boost its popularity more than the others (which are already quite well-received).
