Vapor Chamber Exclusively Featured in iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max

Apple is reportedly adopting vapor chambers for cooling in the iPhone 17 line, a technology used by Android manufacturers for years. However, a new rumor suggests that only the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature vapor chambers, which are more effective at dissipating heat from the chipset. This change aims to reduce throttling, enhancing performance. Additionally, the upcoming A19 Pro SoC is expected to improve thermal management. Together, the vapor chamber and advanced chipset are anticipated to ensure sustained performance without throttling issues.

In January, we learned that Apple would finally transition from heat sinks to vapor chambers for cooling across the entire iPhone 17 lineup, keeping pace with what Android manufacturers have been implementing for years.

However, a new rumor from China suggests that only the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will actually feature vapor chambers. Vapor chambers are more effective at dissipating heat generated by a phone’s chipset, resulting in reduced throttling of the chipset’s performance.

The same insider indicates that the A19 Pro SoC, which Apple will incorporate in its upcoming Pro models, will also feature enhanced thermal management. This would mean that with the addition of a vapor chamber, sustained performance could be achieved without any throttling issues.
