The Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ is set to debut as the first smartphone featuring the new Helio G200 chipset.

MediaTek’s new Helio G200 chip will debut in the Tecno Spark 40 Pro+, promising a 10% performance boost over the G100. It achieves 470,000 points on AnTuTu and increases the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU’s clock speed to 1.1GHz. The Spark 40 Pro+ will feature super resolution algorithms for 1.5K graphics. Tecno also highlights the chip’s Dynamic Communication Smart Adaptive Response (DC SAR) for better network efficiency in poor signal areas, enhancing data speeds. While camera features remain undisclosed, the Helio G200 supports 12-bit DCG for improved HDR video quality. The Spark 40 series will launch globally in July.

MediaTek’s newly introduced Helio G200 is set to launch soon, with the Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ being the first smartphone to feature this new chipset. Details regarding the chipsets for the other models in the Spark 40 series have yet to be announced.

Tecno claims a 10% performance boost over the G100, aiming for a score of 470,000 points on AnTuTu. The updated chip increases the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU clock speed to 1.1GHz, up from 1.0GHz on the G99 and G100. Additionally, the Spark 40 Pro+ will incorporate tailored super resolution algorithms to render graphics at 1.5K. For reference, the G100 was utilized in models like the Spark 30 Pro and Camon 40 Pro 4G.

Tecno offers a clearer explanation of what 4G DC SAR entails compared to MediaTek – it stands for Dynamic Communication Smart Adaptive Response. This technology enhances network efficiency in areas with poor signal strength, potentially leading to increased data speeds for streaming, gaming, and more.

The Helio G200 also supports 12-bit DCG for cameras, significantly enhancing HDR video quality. However, Tecno has yet to disclose the camera features for the Spark 40.

“The Spark 40 Series will not simply be elevating specifications. With the Helio G200 propelling it, the Spark 40 Series is set to redefine what’s achievable in its category, providing an unparalleled experience for users — all while maintaining a sleek design,” stated Joey Qu, Tecno’s senior product manager.

Tecno is scheduled to launch the Spark 40 series globally in July, with more information on design, performance, and Tecno AI features coming soon.
