Ahead of MWC, Tecno introduced the Spark Slim, claimed to be the world’s thinnest smartphone at just 5.75 mm. It features dual 50 MP cameras, a 5,200 mAh battery, a 6.78″ AMOLED display with 1224p resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The front includes a 13 MP camera, and the device supports 45W fast charging. However, the Spark Slim remains a concept, with no launch date provided and demo units available at MWC. Tecno has not revealed the chipset, implying it won’t be a flagship-level device due to size constraints.
Before the MWC, Tecno revealed its latest innovation, the Spark Slim, touted as the world’s slimmest smartphone. Measuring just 5.75 mm in thickness, it boasts two 50 MP cameras and a robust 5,200 mAh battery.
However, it’s important to note that this announcement pertains to a concept phone — no launch date information has been shared. While the company will showcase demo units at MWC, it’s unlikely that we will see it available in the market in its current design.
The Spark Slim is equipped with a 6.78″ AMOLED display featuring curved edges, offering a resolution of 1224p and supporting a 144 Hz refresh rate. It can achieve an impressive peak brightness of 4,500 nits and is complemented by a 13 MP front-facing camera.
The battery itself is 4.04 mm thick and supports fast charging of up to 45W. Despite the added thickness from the camera bump, this device remains remarkably compact.
Tecno has kept the chipset details for the Spark Slim under wraps, only mentioning that it includes an octa-core CPU. We don’t expect it to feature a flagship-level platform, as that would require an extensive cooling system that wouldn’t fit in such a slim profile.
The Spark Slim will be showcased at MWC in Barcelona. We intend to attend the Congress and will attempt to spend some time with the device to share our impressions with you.
