TCS Employee Takes Own Life, Accuses Wife in Video Message

A techie from Agra, Manav Sharma, allegedly died by suicide, leaving behind a video accusing his wife, Nikita, of infidelity. Found on February 24, the video expressed his despair and concern for men’s struggles, stating he had previously attempted suicide. In response, Nikita denied the allegations, claiming he had a history of violence and self-harm, and stated that she had sought help from his family. After the video surfaced, police were alerted, and a complaint was filed against Nikita. The police are investigating, with this case paralleling another recent suicide involving a techie in Bengaluru.
Agra, Uttar Pradesh:

A technology professional from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, reportedly took his own life earlier this week, leaving behind a heart-wrenching video that blames his wife of one year. Manav Sharma, who worked for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), was discovered hanging at his residence on February 24, as reported by officials.

As per the police, the techie’s sister discovered the video on his phone two days following his death.

In a nearly seven-minute distressing recording, with a noose around his neck, Sharma accused his wife of being romantically involved with another man. “This is for the authorities. The law must protect men, or a time will come when there will be no men left to blame. My wife was involved with another man… But what can I do? It’s irrelevant now,” he stated.

After a brief pause, he added, “I don’t mind dying. I want to go. Please think about men. I’m sorry, everyone. Someone must speak about men. They often feel very isolated. Everything will improve once I’m gone. I have made attempts on my life before.”

Shortly after the video surfaced, the techie’s wife, Nikita, released a response video in which she refuted the allegations and accused her husband of physical abuse.

“On the day he died by suicide, he had taken me to my mother’s home. The claims he has made about me relate to my past. They have nothing to do with anything following our marriage. He has previously attempted to harm himself multiple times… I have intervened at least three times. He used to drink and physically assault me as well,” she stated.

Nikita also asserted that she had notified his parents about his self-harming attempts, but they did not take action.

“I had informed his parents about everything, but they claimed it was a matter between husband and wife. They stayed for two days and then left. I also called his sister to tell her about his suicide attempts. In response, she told me to sleep, assuring me he wouldn’t do anything,” she continued.

The police confirmed that a complaint was filed against Nikita after the techie’s sister uncovered the video implicating her.

“The incident occurred on February 24. Manav Sharma’s body was transported to the Army hospital for a post-mortem examination. We did not receive any complaints on that day. A case was registered after the video was located on his phone. His wife claims the allegations against her are false. We are conducting further investigations,” a senior official stated.

Numerous similar cases have emerged in recent days, drawing comparisons to the recent suicide case of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash. The 34-year-old deputy general manager of a private company took his own life in December, leaving behind a 24-page suicide note that accused his wife and her relatives of harassment.
