Sylvester Stallone’s Action-Packed Thriller ‘Armor’ Available for Free Streaming This Month

Sylvester Stallone’s action thriller Armor, released in November 2024, is set to stream for free on Tubi starting March 31. Directed by Justin Routt, it features Stallone alongside Jason Patric and others, focusing on armored truck drivers James and Casey, who must outsmart their attackers after a violent ambush. Critics harshly panned the film, citing weak script and lackluster performances. This follows another Stallone film, Alarum, which also scored 0% on the same platform.

Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone takes a dive into the dark side in this action-packed thriller from last year, which has garnered one of the most extraordinary ratings on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes and is scheduled to hit free streaming this month. Released in November 2024, Armor unfortunately did not achieve the coveted 100% score—rather, it landed a dismal rating of 0%. This film, featuring Stallone leading a band of thieves on a heist of an armored truck, is quite the cinematic oddity, making it a must-watch.

Directed by Justin Routt and penned by Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert, Armor features Stallone alongside Jason Patric (The Lost Boys, The Losers), Dash Mihok (Ray Donovan, The Thin Red Line), Josh Wiggins (Giant Little Ones, Walking Out, Mean Dreams), Blake Shields (Heroes, The Hollow), and Erin Ownbey (Atlanta, Echo). Armor is set to arrive on the free streaming service Tubi starting March 31, and you can find the official synopsis below.

Sylvester Stallone might take pride in the person he has evolved into, yet he harbors a few regrets, particularly regarding some of his films.

“Academy Award Nominee Sylvester Stallone and Jason Patric star in a gripping thriller that explores the extremes one man will go to protect his family and reclaim his existence. James and his son Casey are armored truck drivers assigned to transport a questionable package. The action thriller featuring the Rambo and Expendables star has become the latest addition to the unusual Rotten Tomatoes club after receiving a score of 0% based on 25 approved reviews. Dennis Harvey from Variety found virtually nothing redeemable in Armor, criticizing the script by Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert and lamenting the lack of exciting action, stating, “Neither its direction nor the performances rise above the flaws of Adrian Speckert and Cory Todd Hughes’ writing, leaving mediocre content unreclaimed by any exceptional thrills, style, or character development.” In contrast, Glenn Kenny from RogerEbert.com gave the film a mere 1 out of 4 stars, commenting that Stallone appears “less motivated” than in his recent acclaimed performance in Tulsa King, concluding that “Even at its relatively brief 89-minute runtime, Armor feels unnecessarily long.”

Lastly, Aidan Kelley from Collider scored Armor a meager 3 out of 10, unfavorably likening it to other recent disappointments like The Crow and Borderlands. Lionsgate has certainly faced a tough stretch lately.

“Where Lionsgate’s other ill-fated action projects like Borderlands and The Crow may serve as examples of how not to create an action film, Armor might not even be remembered at all.”

Armor isn’t the only recent Stallone film to receive a dreadful score of 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, as his action crime thriller Alarum has also joined this infamous group. Fortunately, the actor will have the opportunity to bounce back, with Season 3 of Tulsa King currently in production.
