Samsung’s Galaxy S24 FE, released in October, has sparked rumors about its successor, the S25 FE. Initially expected to feature the Exynos 2400e chipset like its predecessor, reports now suggest a potential switch to MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 SoC. This change would depend on the availability of Exynos 2400e chips, which remains Samsung’s preferred option due to cost efficiency. Despite the anticipation for new upgrades, the S25 FE is expected to offer minimal improvements over the S24 FE. Further updates on the S25 FE’s development are anticipated as its launch date approaches.
Samsung’s Galaxy S24 FE debuted in October, and there are already whispers about its successor, the S25 FE. Initially, this upcoming model was expected to feature the Exynos 2400e chipset, identical to that of the S24 FE. Unsurprisingly, this might have deterred some potential buyers.
Interestingly, a new rumor suggests that Samsung could consider MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 SoC instead. However, don’t celebrate just yet – the Exynos 2400e is reportedly still Samsung’s preferred option.

The switch to the Dimensity 9400 will only happen if Samsung’s foundry is unable to produce enough Exynos 2400e chips. While many would certainly welcome the improved performance of the Dimensity 9400 in the S25 FE, Samsung understandably prefers to use its own, more cost-effective chip.
Unfortunately, it appears that the S25 FE will offer minimal upgrades from its predecessor, so any chipset change might help boost sales. Regardless, we can expect to hear more on this front as we are still several months away from the S25 FE’s release, so stay tuned.
