Rumors Suggest Galaxy Z Fold7 Will Be Thinner Than Anticipated, While Z Flip7 Is Set for a Bigger Battery

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 are set to be unveiled in early July. Leaks suggest the Z Fold7 will be thinner at just 8.2mm folded, compared to 9.5mm for its predecessor, with a 200MP main camera and an enhanced 8” inner display. The Z Flip7 will also be thinner and feature a larger, 4” cover display, alongside a bigger 4,300mAh battery. Both foldables will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. However, the Z Fold7 is expected to see a €100 price increase over the Z Fold6, which started at €2,000.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7 are set to debut in early July. While leaks are providing insights into these new foldables, some details are still evolving. Here’s the latest update from TechManiacs.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is rumored to be considerably thinner than its 2024 predecessor. How much thinner? Previous reports indicated it would be 4.5mm when unfolded and 9.5mm when folded, but the latest suggests it may reach an impressive 8.2mm when folded!

However, take this with caution as achieving this would allow Samsung to surpass its competitors – for instance, the Oppo Find N5 measures 8.9mm when folded. The Korean tech giant would need to make substantial improvements over its current best, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which is 10.6mm thick.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Z Fold7 will feature a 200MP main camera, similar to the Special Edition, but the telephoto (3x 10MP) and ultra-wide (12MP) lenses will remain unchanged.

The inner display is anticipated to expand to 8 inches, up from 7.6 inches on the Z Fold6, while the cover display will increase from 6.3 inches to 6.5 inches, matching the dimensions of the Special Edition.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 will include a larger cover display as well, transitioning from a 3.4-inch fold-shaped panel to a near-rectangular 4-inch panel. The Z Flip will also see a reduction in thickness compared to its predecessor, though specific measurements are not available in this report.

Galaxy Z Fold7 rumored to be even thinner than expected, Z Flip7 to have a larger battery

It will feature a larger battery as well, increasing from 4,000mAh to 4,300mAh (charging speeds will remain unchanged). The camera system won’t be upgraded to 200MP; instead, it appears Samsung will stick with the 50+12MP configuration from the Z Flip6.

Both devices will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, while the Z Flip SE or its equivalent will utilize an Exynos 2400e chip.

Lastly, the report brings some disappointing news – the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is projected to see a €100 price increase compared to its predecessor. For context, the Z Fold6 launched at €2,000. As for the Z Flip7, there are no updates regarding its price, which we hope is a good sign.
