In reflecting on Kohli’s exceptional run chase and India’s victory over Pakistan, Sidhu emphasized that more than Kohli’s feats with the bat, it was Rohit’s expression that filled him with immense confidence.

“More significant than what Virat Kohli accomplished today was the joy on Rohit Sharma’s face. When Virat scores that hundred, just look at that expression. No one can create a symphony alone; it requires an orchestra. It’s a team sport, and when the team takes pride in a fellow player’s performance, it signals a strong unit playing as one family, and taking pride in one another. Such pride inspires future generations. These two will pass on the torch,” Sidhu remarked during a discussion on Star Sports.

While it’s clear that both Virat and Rohit may be approaching the twilight of their careers, the camaraderie and bond they have fostered over the years bring joy to Sidhu’s heart.

“When they step up, time is all that matters. It could be 2 or 3 years down the line. It’s easy to share someone’s sorrow, but being part of someone’s joy signifies true friendship and teamwork. I focus on those small moments which ultimately make a significant impact in a team game.”
