Review of the Xiaomi Watch S4

The Xiaomi Watch S4 has launched globally, following its popular predecessor. It features a fluororubber strap and a 2-pin magnetic charger with a USB-A plug, though a USB-C would have been preferable. The 47mm case houses a significantly brighter 1.43-inch display, now at 2,200 nits. The improved swappable bezels include a vibration alert when removed, secured by a bayonet-style mechanism. The watch comes with a colorful bezel and strap, with options for additional styles. The battery remains a 486mAh unit with a claimed 15-day endurance, although actual performance will be tested. Full review forthcoming.

The Xiaomi Watch S4 has made its debut globally, stepping into the spotlight with considerable expectations, following the success of its predecessor, a widely acclaimed wearable.

The Watch S4 includes a fluororubber strap and comes with a 2-pin magnetic charger. Interestingly, the charger still features a USB-A plug; we believe that by 2025, a USB-C cable would have been a more suitable choice.

Similar to its predecessor, the Watch S4 features a single 47mm case size and boasts a 1.43-inch display. Notably, the display’s brightness has dramatically increased from 600 nits to 2,200 nits.

The interchangeable bezels that set the previous model apart have been enhanced in the new iteration. Now, when you detach the bezel, the watch vibrates continuously until you reattach it.

The case utilizes a bayonet-style mechanism that securely locks the bezel in place. Combined with the standard 22mm strap size, it offers a clever method to refresh your watch in the future.

Our review unit was packaged with a vibrant bezel and rubber strap combination, but additional options are available, such as a dual-tone leather and stainless steel + ceramic bezel set.

The battery remains at 486mAh, with a claimed lifespan of 15 days. In our experience, the older model provided around 5 days of intense usage, and we will evaluate whether the new model’s brighter display impacts that figure.
