Report: Samsung Developing Two Sets of XR Smart Glasses

Samsung is reportedly developing three mixed-reality devices, with Project Moohan, likely named Galaxy XR, confirmed as a VR/AR headset. The company is also working on two other devices, Project Haean and Project Jinju, which are expected to be mixed-reality glasses featuring thin frames, sensors, and possibly cameras, with sound transmitted through the frame. However, design and specifications have not yet been finalized, so their release may be delayed. Despite this uncertainty, a report suggests that Samsung could unveil the Haean and Jinju glasses alongside the Galaxy XR headset later this year, priced around $2,500 in the US.

As per a recent article by ET News, Samsung is currently developing three mixed-reality devices, with only one, Project Moohan, confirmed for release – likely under the name Galaxy XR. This device is a comprehensive VR/AR headset, but the report indicates that the South Korean technology leader is also working on two additional XR glasses, known as Project Haean and Project Jinju.

Haean and Jinju are expected to be mixed-reality glasses featuring a standard exterior design. They will have slender frames but will likely include multiple sensors and possibly a camera. Audio is expected to be transmitted through the frame itself.

However, don’t get too excited just yet. The leaks indicate that Samsung has yet to finalize the designs and specifications for either pair of glasses, so they may not be available anytime soon.

On a brighter note, the same report mentions that Samsung could launch the Haean and Jinju glasses alongside the Galaxy XR headset later this year, with the headset expected to retail for around $2,500, at least in the United States.
