New Delhi:
Delhi CM-designee Rekha Gupta, who was elected as an MLA from the Shalimar Bagh constituency, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party leadership for their trust in her, stating, “I will uphold his expectations.”
“PM Narendra Modi has placed immense confidence in an ordinary party worker and daughter like me. I am committed to meeting his expectations. I extend my gratitude to the party leadership and PM Narendra Modi for believing in a commoner like me and entrusting me with such a significant responsibility… My journey can serve as an inspiration for every woman, showing that even a common middle-class woman can be given an opportunity to achieve the highest positions within the party…,” Gupta remarked upon her arrival at her Shalimar Bagh residence.
She also expressed gratitude to the people of Delhi for their support and trust in her, stating that the city is on the brink of a prosperous era.
“I want to thank the party high command, PM Modi, and the citizens of Delhi for their support and for choosing me. Significant changes are on the horizon for Delhi; a golden era is approaching… Achieving PM Modi’s vision and honoring the commitments we have made to the populace is my primary goal…,” Rekha Gupta affirmed.
Rekha Gupta will take the oath of office as Chief Minister during a ceremony at Ramlila Maidan in the national capital on February 20.
She will be the fourth woman to hold the Chief Ministership of Delhi, continuing a legacy that many other states have struggled to emulate. Delhi has witnessed women Chief Ministers from the BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party. She will succeed Atishi.
BJP workers and supporters rejoiced at the party’s resurgence in power in the capital. Rekha Gupta’s husband, Manish Gupta, along with her supporters, also celebrated the announcement of her becoming the next Chief Minister.
