Meta has unveiled new features for the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, enhancing their AR capabilities. The live translate feature now allows offline conversations in English, French, Italian, and Spanish, providing translated audio and transcripts. Users can also send and receive Instagram messages, photos, and calls by voice command. New regions, including India, Mexico, and the UAE, will gain access to music apps like Spotify and Apple Music. Additionally, a conversation feature with Meta AI enables natural dialogue while the glasses recognize what users are looking at. The glasses now come in new styles, including Shiny Chalky Gray and Shiny Black variants.
Meta has unveiled a range of new features, several fresh styles, and enhanced availability for the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, the company’s augmented reality accessory.
Beginning with the new features, the live translate capability that was previously offered in Early Access is now being rolled out in all markets. Users will have the ability to converse in English, French, Italian, and Spanish without requiring an internet connection, provided the language pack is downloaded beforehand. You will hear a translated version of what the other person is saying, while they can view a translated transcript of your words on their phone.
The glasses now also offer the ability to send and receive direct messages, photos, audio, voice, and video calls via Instagram. Simply say, “Hey Meta, send a message to [insert name] on Instagram.”
Users in regions beyond the US and Canada will soon have access to music apps, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Shazam. You can just ask Meta AI for your desired music as long as your default language is set to English.
Additionally, users outside the US and Canada will be able to engage in conversations with Meta AI, which can see what you’re looking at and respond to related questions. Conversations can flow naturally without the need to continually say “Hey, Meta.”
As for the styles, the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses now offer a new option for the Skyler frame and lens combination. You can choose the Shiny Chalky Gray variant with Transitions Sapphire lenses, providing gray Skyler frames paired with a blue lens. Other options include Skyler Shiny Black with G15 Green lenses or Clear lenses.
Lastly, the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses are set to be introduced in additional regions, including India, Mexico, and the UAE. However, a specific launch date for these areas has yet to be announced.
