The Jets are enhancing their roster under new head coach Aaron Glenn by signing edge rusher Rashad Weaver to a one-year contract. Weaver, originally a fourth-round pick by the Titans in 2021, recorded 5.5 sacks over three seasons and spent part of last year with the Texans and on the Rams’ practice squad. The Jets are optimistic about Jermaine Johnson’s recovery from last year’s Achilles injury, while Will McDonald and Micheal Clemons will also compete for edge roles.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, they have reached an agreement with Rashad Weaver. The contract is for one year, with no additional details disclosed.

Weaver was selected in the fourth round by the Titans in 2021 and recorded 5.5 sacks during his three seasons with the team. Last year, he played three games for the Texans and ended the season on the Rams’ practice squad.

The Jets are optimistic about getting Jermaine Johnson back to full strength after his Achilles injury last year. Will McDonald and Micheal Clemons are also contenders for edge roles.
