Bengaluru:

A 17-year-old victim of rape has reportedly been assaulted by a police constable at a hotel in Bengaluru, officials stated on Monday.

The event occurred in December when constable Arun lured the survivor to a hotel under the guise of offering her assistance.

Officials report that the teenager had initially formed a friendship with Vicky, who raped her by making a false promise of marriage and also subjected her to violence.

The survivor’s mother lodged a complaint with the Bommanahalli police, but Arun became friendly with the accused individual.

The constable pledged to deliver justice for the girl and offered to help her secure employment. He allegedly invited her to a hotel, where he allegedly mixed sedatives into a bottle of liquor and coerced her into drinking it. Arun then raped the survivor and threatened to leak her private videos if she spoke out about the incident, according to officials.

Both Arun and Vicky have been apprehended and face charges under several sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The accused are currently held in judicial custody for 14 days.
