PM Modi’s Intimate Interaction with Lions at Gujarat Wildlife Center

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited “Vantara,” a newly inaugurated animal rescue and rehabilitation center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, which houses over 1.5 lakh rescued animals. During his visit, Modi explored its advanced veterinary facilities, witnessed surgeries, and engaged with various species including Asiatic Lion cubs and snow tigers. He shared moments of feeding lion cubs and interacting with diverse wildlife, emphasizing India’s commitment to wildlife conservation. The center, spanning 3,000 acres, aims to monitor animals in habitats reflective of their natural environments and showcases a dedication to protecting endangered species. Modi praised Vantara as a commendable initiative for wildlife protection.
Jamnagar, Gujarat:

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the freshly opened ‘Vantara’, an animal rescue and rehabilitation center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, where he enjoyed heartwarming interactions with various animals. Vantara is home to over 150,000 rescued animals, and PM Modi took the opportunity to tour its state-of-the-art veterinary facilities, spend quality time with the animals, observe surgeries, and engage in conservation initiatives.

A video showcased PM Modi playing with numerous animals, including Asiatic Lion cubs, White Lion cubs, Leopard cubs, and other endangered species. Behind a glass partition, he sat closely with snow tigers, a white lion, and a snow leopard.

He also interacted with other wildlife such as lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants, and parrots, emphasizing India’s commitment to wildlife protection.

The Prime Minister shared some photos on X, depicting him offering water to lion cubs and an orphaned baby rhinoceros. He was also seen petting an okapi, embracing an orangutan, and observing crocodiles. Additionally, he encountered a large python, a rare two-headed snake, and a two-headed turtle.

PM Modi subsequently visited the wildlife hospital within the center, where he received a briefing on a wide array of veterinary services, including MRI, CT scans, and ICUs. He also toured the operating theatre, where a Leopard was undergoing life-saving surgery after being struck by a vehicle on the highway recently.

Spanning over 3,000 acres, Vantara currently houses more than 2,000 endangered species, with the rescued animals being kept in environments that simulate their natural habitats.
