New Delhi:
On Monday evening in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Tulsi Gabbard, who serves as the Director of National Intelligence for the United States. This meeting followed her discussion with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who emphasized the need to take action against the Khalistani terrorist organization Sikhs For Justice and its leader, Gurpatwant Pannun.
During their meeting, both exchanged gifts; Mr. Modi gifted the US intelligence chief a vase containing Ganga water sourced from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where the Maha Kumbh took place.
This marks Ms. Gabbard’s second encounter with the Prime Minister in the last two months; previously, they met in February when Mr. Modi was in Washington, D.C. for a bilateral engagement with President Donald Trump.
At that time, discussions between Mr. Modi and Ms. Gabbard focused on enhancing cooperation to combat threats such as terrorism and cybersecurity, aiming to “set the tone and vision for a stronger India-US partnership”.
