PCB Responds After Pakistan’s Absence from 2025 Champions Trophy Logo Displayed During India vs Bangladesh Match

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) raised concerns with the ICC over the omission of Pakistan’s name from the Champions Trophy 2025 logo during the live broadcast of the India vs. Bangladesh match in Dubai. ICC acknowledged this as a technical error and assured PCB that the correct three-line logo featuring Pakistan will be used in all Dubai matches, as seen in earlier broadcasts in Karachi. During the match, only the tournament name appeared on the graphic. India won the match against Bangladesh by six wickets, with a highly anticipated clash against Pakistan scheduled next.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has voiced its concerns to the ICC regarding the omission of the country’s name from the tournament logo displayed during the live transmission of the India versus Bangladesh match in the Champions Trophy. This match took place in Dubai on Thursday. As per PCB sources, the ICC has acknowledged the mistake and promised to feature the three-line logo with Pakistan’s name in all matches held in Dubai — consistent with the broadcast graphics used for matches in the host nation. India is scheduled to play all its games in Dubai as part of the hybrid model established by the involved stakeholders.

“It is confirmed that PCB has formally contacted ICC, and the ICC has assured PCB that they will display the three-line horizontal logo featuring Pakistan’s name in all Dubai matches – the same broadcast graphics that were used during Karachi matches on February 19 and 21,” a PCB source informed PTI.

It has been indicated that the ICC has informally communicated to PCB that this was a technical oversight.

During the India-Bangladesh match, the logo displayed in the upper left corner of the broadcast showcased only the event name — Champions Trophy 2025 — without including Pakistan, the host nation.

India triumphed over Bangladesh by six wickets in that match, marking their first game in the eight-team competition.

The graphics are prepared and produced by UK-based Sunset & Vine under the oversight of the ICC, well in advance and made available for live feeds.

The issue emerged prior to the high-profile Champions Trophy encounter between arch-rivals India and Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday.
