Bhopal:

At a hospital in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, astonishing scenes unfolded when a patient exited onto the street with a catheter and breathing tube still connected, alleging fraud by the hospital authorities.

The individual, Bunty Nimama, claimed that his arms and legs were restrained to a bed at GD Hospital and that his family was misled into believing he was in a coma, prompting them to buy expensive medications and cover his treatment costs. However, hospital officials released CCTV footage, stating that Mr. Nimama caused a disturbance in the ICU and verbally attacked the medical staff.

An investigation has been initiated regarding the hospital’s conduct.

A now-viral video shows Mr. Nimama exiting the hospital with the medical devices still attached, subsequently staging a protest in the street.

As the uproar intensified, Industrial Police personnel arrived to manage the situation, and district officials took notice of the unfolding events.

According to Mr. Nimama’s family, he was admitted to another medical facility following a dispute with a neighbor before being transferred to the privately-operated GD Hospital.

After the footage gained widespread attention, Collector Rajesh Batham called for an inquiry, leading to a visit from a three-member investigation team to the hospital. An official named Ashish Chaurasia stated that a fair investigation would be conducted, with testimonies from all parties involved being recorded before a comprehensive report is prepared.

However, the hospital administration has released CCTV footage, asserting that Mr. Nimama disturbed the ICU and insulted the doctors treating him. Furthermore, the hospital authorities, having filed a complaint against Mr. Nimama at the Industrial Area Police Station, also noted that he has a criminal background.
