Oppo’s last flip-style foldable, the Find N3 Flip, was launched in 2023, but little has been heard since, aside from the book-style Find N5 release. Recent patent filings at the WIPO have revealed potential designs for an upcoming Find N5 Flip. The design features a cover screen on one side with three cameras, similar to the Find N3 Flip but arranged in a new configuration reminiscent of the Find N2 Flip. The cover display appears larger, aligning with market trends. However, patents do not guarantee product release or adherence to the designs shown. Updates will follow as available.
Oppo’s previous flip-style foldable was the Find N3 Flip, released in 2023. Since then, there has been little to no activity in this area, despite the company launching the book-style Find N5.
Recently, the design of what might be the forthcoming Find N5 Flip appears to have been revealed in a patent filing at the WIPO. This documentation showcases the complete design for a flip-style foldable, and it features a look not previously utilized by Oppo.
It is instantly recognizable as part of Oppo’s Flip series, with the cover screen positioned on one side and the cameras located adjacent to it. It features three cameras, which is still somewhat uncommon for this device style, though the Find N3 Flip also had the same configuration. However, their arrangement is different, resembling that of the Find N2 Flip, as they are not standalone circles but are integrated into a larger island—dare we say, reminiscent of Samsung’s designs.
The cover display appears to be larger than that of the Find N3 Flip, which aligns with the trend over the past few years of increasing screen sizes.
While these visuals are intriguing, it’s important to remember that companies often file patents they don’t end up using, so this alone does not confirm that a Find N5 Flip is on the way, nor that it will look like this. We will keep you updated if we learn more.
