OnePlus Watch 3 postponed to April to address Meda typo in China

The OnePlus Watch 3 has been announced and pre-orders are open, but its release date has been delayed to April due to a typo on the watch’s back. The initial production run included this error, leading OnePlus to offer free replacements to customers upset by it. Despite the delay, pre-orders continue with a minimum $30 discount, which varies by market. Customers will now face a longer wait for their shipments. A review of the OnePlus Watch 3 is in progress, so stay tuned for more information.

Unfortunately, if you were hoping to get your hands on a OnePlus Watch 3 quickly, we have some disappointing news. While the company revealed the new smartwatch last week and quickly began accepting pre-orders, the release date, which was initially set for today in certain regions, has now been postponed until April.

This delay stems from a rather amusing typo on the back of the watch, where “Meda” was mistakenly written instead of “Media” in China. It turns out the entire first production batch contains this error, and OnePlus has already informed customers that they can receive a complimentary replacement if they receive this ‘version’ and find the typo bothersome.

Despite the delay in release, pre-orders remain open, meaning you can still benefit from a minimum $30 discount (which may vary depending on your region and could be higher). However, be prepared for an extended waiting period for your pre-order to be shipped.

In the meantime, we’re diligently working on our review of the OnePlus Watch 3, so stay tuned for that.
