OnePlus Nord 5 specifications revealed, impressive chipset unveiled

OnePlus is set to launch the Nord 5, its upcoming successor to the Nord 4. Recent leaks indicate it will feature a flat OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, along with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The device will be powered by the unannounced Dimensity 9400e chipset, enhancing performance over the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 in the Nord 4. Camera specs remain similar, with a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide, and a 16 MP selfie camera. The battery will upgrade to 7,000 mAh with 100W charging. Expected price in India is around INR 30,000.

Last summer, OnePlus unveiled the Nord 4, meaning we are approaching the launch of its successor, which we’re tentatively calling the Nord 5.

A recent leak from a source on X has provided insights into its key specifications, so let’s delve into them. The Nord 5 is rumored to feature a flat OLED display with a “1.5K” resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, alongside an in-display fingerprint sensor.

It’s expected to be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Dimensity 9400e chipset, which will be a lower-bin variant of the 9400. This upgrade is set to significantly enhance the Nord 5’s performance compared to the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC found in its predecessor.

The Nord 5 is anticipated to come with a 50 MP main camera featuring OIS, coupled with an 8 MP ultrawide lens and a 16 MP front-facing camera—specifications that mirror those of the Nord 4. However, the battery capacity is expected to see a notable increase, from 5,500 mAh to 7,000 mAh, and the new device will also support 100W wired charging. Design-wise, it will have a glass back and a plastic frame, dual speakers, and an IR blaster.

In India, it’s rumored to be priced around INR 30,000, which currently converts to approximately $355 or €313. These are all the tidbits we have thus far, but we anticipate more details about the Nord 5 to emerge in the coming weeks leading up to its launch, so stay tuned.
