OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra Appears on Geekbench with an Unexpected Chipset Selection

OnePlus is set to introduce a new model in its Ace 5 lineup, rumored to be called the Ace 5 Supreme Edition, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset. This device recently appeared in the Geekbench database, showcasing its performance with a Prime core clocked at 3.73 GHz, compared to the 3.63 GHz of the standard 9400. The prototype features 16GB of RAM and runs on Android 15. Expected to launch in China by the end of the month, its international availability remains uncertain. The performance is comparable to the OnePlus 10 Pro, which uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.

Last week, we learned that OnePlus is developing a third addition to its Ace 5 lineup, following the already released Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro. Previously, it was speculated that this new model would utilize MediaTek’s yet-to-be-announced Dimensity 9400e SoC, which is the lower variant of the 9400 series.

However, a new OnePlus device has now appeared in the Geekbench database, and it features the recently introduced Dimensity 9400+, the higher-end model of the 9400 series. This is somewhat perplexing, as it is expected to debut in China as the OnePlus Ace 5 Supreme Edition (often translated into English as “Ultra”).

This Ultra device exhibits Geekbench scores that are quite similar to the OnePlus 10 Pro, though it falls slightly short— the Pro model is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. Regardless, the use of Dimensity 9400+ is confirmed due to its Prime core’s frequency of 3.73 GHz, marking a notable improvement over the standard 9400, which maxed out at 3.63 GHz.

The benchmark prototype included 16GB of RAM, but OnePlus may opt to offer variations with different memory configurations. As expected, it runs on Android 15. This phone is anticipated to launch in China by the end of this month, but international availability remains uncertain. We’ll keep you updated.
