One UI 7 has begun rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy A15 and A16 (4G models) in Korea, marking their first major OS update since launching with Android 14/One UI 6.1. The A15 will receive three more updates, while the A16 will get five. Both phones are powered by the Helio G99 chipset. Reports on the A15 5G and A16 5G, which feature newer chipsets, are still pending, but their updates are expected soon. The rollout is gradual, with the A15 update arriving ahead of its planned June timeline. The roadmap doesn’t differentiate between 4G and 5G models.
The rollout of One UI 7 has begun for entry-level Galaxy smartphones, with reports from Korea confirming that the Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A16 (the 4G variants) are now receiving the update.
Both devices were launched with Android 14/One UI 6.1, marking their first major OS upgrade. The A15 is eligible for three additional updates, while the A16 is set to receive five more, benefiting from premium support. It’s worth noting that both models are powered by the Helio G99 chipset.
Samsung Galaxy A15 and A16 are now getting the One UI 7 update
So far, there have been no reports of the Galaxy A15 5G and Galaxy A16 5G receiving the update, but it should be imminent. These models also debuted with Android 14 and are slated for 4 and 6 OS upgrades, respectively. They feature more advanced chipsets—a Dimensity 6100+ for the A15 5G and a Dimensity 6300/Exynos 1330 for the A16 5G.
Another consideration is when other regions will begin rolling out the update. Typically, updates are deployed gradually to address any potential issues. The official roadmap indicated that the Galaxy A15 was expected to receive its update in June, making this release ahead of schedule (the A16 was scheduled for May). Notably, the roadmap does not differentiate between the 4G and 5G models, implying that their launches are intended to coincide.
