OG&E is working to restore power in Oklahoma following severe storms that caused significant damage over the weekend. The storms, featuring heavy rain and winds up to 70 mph, resulted in downed power lines and damaged equipment, particularly in northeastern areas like Kellyville and Muskogee. As of Saturday evening, approximately 2,500 customers remained without service, but 85% of those impacted have had their power restored. Crews are prioritizing essential services and will continue working around the clock. Safety guidelines urge the public to avoid downed lines and report any hazards. Debris removal will be the customers’ responsibility.

OG&E has released an update regarding their repair efforts as teams are dispatched to various locations throughout the state to restore power to thousands of Oklahomans affected by the severe weekend storms.
Severe Storms in Oklahoma Resulted in Major Damage
- Intense storms with heavy rainfall, hail, and winds reaching up to 70 mph swept through OG&E’s service area late Saturday, leading to downed power lines, broken poles, and damage to cross arms and other pole-mounted equipment.
- The areas most impacted are primarily in the northeastern service region, specifically including Kellyville, Sapulpa, Drumright, and Muskogee in Oklahoma.
- As of 5 p.m., approximately 2,500 customers are experiencing service interruptions.
- Crews have successfully restored power to 85% of customers who faced outages due to these storms, and we are monitoring additional storm activity forecasted for tonight and tomorrow, which may result in further outages.
Restoration in Progress
- We recognize the critical importance of power for our customers. Our crews have been and will continue working tirelessly as long as conditions are safe until power is fully restored.
- Estimated restoration times can be found on System Watch for areas outside of northeastern Oklahoma. We will inform customers when times are available for remaining outages, noting that many may last throughout the night.
- After repairing the power infrastructure, we prioritize restoration efforts for essential community services, such as hospitals, police stations, fire departments, public works, and other vital facilities.
Post-Storm Procedures
- Following the storms, OG&E will place tree and brush debris at the curb, but customers are responsible for their removal. Local city and county resources for debris disposal may be accessible and vary by area.
Customer Guidance
- Always treat downed power lines as hazardous and potentially live. Maintain a safe distance from them and anything they come into contact with. Do not drive over downed lines. Report any downed lines by calling 800-522-6870.
- The public is urged to stay clear of storm-affected areas so that crews can efficiently and safely restore power to customers in need.
- As we work to clear tree limbs obstructing power lines and damaging equipment, our vegetation crews will transport tree and brush debris from customer yards to the curb, but they cannot remove debris from the customer’s property.
- OG&E customers can easily report and monitor outages:
- Use our app to submit an outage report (available on iOS and Android)
- Report outages online at OGE.com/outages
- Text OUT to 32001 if subscribed to myOGEalerts
- Call 405-272-9595 (OKC metro) or 800-522-6870 (other areas)
- For power restoration, it may be necessary for our crews to access your property. Please ensure they have clear access and secure any pets.
- Customers may need to ensure their homes and businesses can receive power and might require a certified electrician to fix a weather head, meter base, or service cable.
