Offers: Moto Edge 60 Fusion and Pixel 9a launch, iPhone 16 and 15 series discounted by £100

This week, significant updates emerged in the mobile industry, including a £100 discount on iPhones. Motorola introduced the Edge 60 Fusion, a stylish mid-range phone featuring a 6.67” quad-curved OLED display, Dimensity 7300 chipset, and a 50MP main camera. Google announced the Pixel 9a’s UK release on April 10, offering perks like a £150 trade-in bonus. Samsung launched two new Tab S FE tablets with improved chipsets and included S Pens. All current iPhones, except for the new 16e, receive discounts. Additionally, Nintendo revealed specs for the upcoming Switch 2, featuring enhanced gaming capabilities and a 1080p display.

This week brought forth several significant announcements from the Android segment of the mobile industry, along with an unexpected £100 discount on new iPhones.

Motorola introduced the initial device from its next generation of Edge smartphones, the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion. Featuring a quad-curved OLED display (6.67”, 1220p+, LTPO 120Hz, 10-bit, GG 7i) and an elegant back made of vegan leather or textile-like materials in Pantone colors, this phone appears more fashionable than its price would indicate.

Though it boasts a quad-curved LTPO display, it is positioned as a mid-range device with a Dimensity 7300 chipset and a robust 5,200mAh battery that supports 68W charging. It includes expandable storage and stereo speakers, but lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack. Its camera setup features a 50MP main sensor (1/1.56”, OIS) and a 13MP ultra-wide lens on the rear, along with a 32MP front camera capable of 4K 30fps video recording.

Google announced that the Pixel 9a will hit the UK market on April 10. You can already place pre-orders through retailers like Amazon. Additionally, if you’re trading in an old phone, you can receive a £150 bonus. Prime subscribers will also receive a complimentary case with the phone. We have a Pixel 9a in our review queue, so stay tuned for a detailed analysis.

In other news, Samsung launched two Tab S FE tablets, both available today and bundled with a free AI Book Cover Keyboard Slim.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE retains the same size as its predecessor, featuring a 10.9” 90Hz IPS LCD. However, it’s 0.5mm thinner and 26g lighter, which makes it feel more compact. The Exynos 1580 chipset marks a significant upgrade over the 1380 in the Tab S9 FE, incorporating ARMv9 CPU cores and an AMD RDNA 3-based GPU. The retail package includes an S Pen, and there’s a microSD slot for additional storage. The battery capacity is 8,000mAh, supporting 45W charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ is larger than its predecessor, featuring a 13.1” display, which is also a 90Hz IPS LCD. It’s 0.5mm thinner as well, although the larger screen size makes it slightly heavier (+37g). The battery remains at 10,090mAh with 45W charging capacity. Both tablets are rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.

The older Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE is mostly out of stock currently, with only the 256GB version available. Given its pricing and microSD slot capabilities, we recommend opting for the newer model.

Choosing between the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ and the new model is a bit more complicated – while the new version is larger and features a better chipset, the older slate is £170 cheaper. Additionally, it has an ultra-wide camera on the back, which has been omitted from the new model, if that is a priority for you.

Nintendo has provided specifications for the highly anticipated Switch 2 handheld console. It’s larger than its predecessor with a 7.9” LCD – a 1080p HDR10 display with a 120Hz refresh rate and VRR – and features a new Nvidia chipset supporting DLSS and ray tracing. While primarily designed as a portable console, the enhanced chip is capable of delivering 4K @ 120fps gaming in docked mode.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is set for release later this year, but you might want to reserve one early – Amazon UK has implemented an invitation system, noting this item is “high-demand with limited quantities.”
