Motorola launched new flip foldables with IP48 dust resistance. The Razr 60 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 7” display, and enhanced battery capacity (4,700mAh). It boasts three 50MP cameras. The more basic Razr 60 offers a Dimensity 7400X chipset and IP48 rating, with a 6.9” display and a 4,500mAh battery. Meanwhile, Samsung’s Galaxy S24 is discounted to €490, offering flagship features over the A-series. The Galaxy A36 is now €325, while Xiaomi’s Poco X7 Pro and Redmi Note 14 Pro provide competitive alternatives with impressive specs, including powerful cameras and large batteries.
This week, Motorola introduced its latest flip foldables, showcasing a dust resistance feature (IP48) that is relatively uncommon for foldable phones. Simultaneously, Samsung has lowered the prices on its mid-range devices, offering some enticing options.
Starting with the Razrs, the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra comes equipped with a true flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, as opposed to the “s” chip of its predecessor. It features a sizable, vibrant 7” display that reaches 4,000 nits brightness with an improved resolution (1224p+, up from 1080p+) and a 4” cover display. Motorola has also notably increased the battery capacity to 4,700mAh—700mAh more than the previous Ultra—and enhanced the charging speed (68W/30W, up from 45W/15W). The new version includes three 50MP cameras: a main 1/1.56” sensor with OIS capable of 8K video, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP front-facing camera.
The Motorola Razr 60 offers a more gradual upgrade from its predecessor, but the IP48 rating is a significant advantage. The Dimensity 7400X chipset raises concerns about long-term performance, yet the larger 4,500mAh battery (30W/15W) is a positive change. This model sports a 6.9” 1080p+ inner display and a 3.6” cover display, along with a 50MP main camera and a 13MP sensor, plus a 32MP selfie camera.

A couple of weeks back, the Samsung Galaxy A56 8/256GB model was on sale, and now the 8/128GB version is available as well.

However, don’t miss out—the Samsung Galaxy S24 is priced at €490 in the Cobalt Violet variant, with limited stock available. Other color options cost an additional €100. If you can snag it for €490, it’s a better bargain than the A56. While the Euro model features an Exynos 2400 chip, it still surpasses the Exynos used in the A-series. Also, it offers a telephoto camera, DeX compatibility, wireless charging, a higher IP rating, and other premium features.

Next, the Samsung Galaxy A36 has seen a price drop from a couple of weeks ago—now the 8/128GB variant is retailing for €325, down from €350. It shares similarities with the A56 but is equipped with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor instead of an Exynos 1580, UFS 2.2 storage (compared to 3.1), a plastic frame rather than aluminum, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera in place of the 12MP.

Let’s also explore two Xiaomi models available at a lower price than the A35. The Poco X7 Pro is powered by a Dimensity 8400 Ultra chip and boasts an IP69 rating. It features a 6.67” 1220p+ 12-bit display and a dual-camera setup with 50MP and 8MP lenses. The global version is equipped with a massive 6,000mAh battery supporting 90W fast charging.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G compromises on performance (with a Dimensity 7300 Ultra chip), battery life (5,110mAh with 45W charging), and even water resistance (IP68) compared to the Poco. Both devices are similarly priced, so what sets them apart? The Redmi offers a stellar 200MP main camera, capable of impressive 2x zoom and decent 4x zoom captures. Its larger sensor (1/1.4″ vs. 50MP 1/1.95″) ensures better quality wide shots as well.

The Realme 14 Pro sees a significant price drop when factoring in a €50 discount voucher. However, its Dimensity 7300 Energy chip and single 50MP rear camera (excluding the 2MP depth sensor) may not justify the cost. This model emphasizes durability (IP69, MIL-STD-810H) and battery life (6,000mAh, 45W) instead. Additionally, its 6.77” 10-bit OLED display is quite impressive, particularly with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits.

The Redmi Note 14 5G is priced €100 lower than the Galaxy A36. Although it lacks the 200MP main camera of the Pro version, it features a capable 108MP sensor. The Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset is comparable to the 7030 variant, and this phone also provides flexibility with a microSD slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Its 6.67” display has a lower resolution (1080p+) compared to the Pro and does not include GG Victus 2 protection. Water resistance is limited to IP64. The 5,110mAh battery with 45W charging remains the same.
