Samsung’s “Sweet Summertime Upgrade” promotion offers a free Galaxy Watch7 with select Galaxy models, including the S24 FE and A56. The S24 FE, now £100 off, features a powerful Exynos 2400e processor, a versatile 50+8+12MP camera setup, and a robust 5,000mAh battery with both wired and wireless charging. The A56, approximately £180 cheaper, has a slower Exynos 1580 processor and lacks a telephoto camera but includes faster charging. Both models promise extensive software updates. Additionally, the Poco X7 Pro and F7 series offer competitive pricing and specifications, appealing to budget-conscious consumers.
Samsung has launched a “Sweet Summertime Upgrade” promotion, offering several Galaxy models alongside a complimentary Galaxy Watch7. We’ve highlighted the S24 FE and A56 models.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is currently discounted by £100, making the 256GB variant only £60 more than the 128GB version. We recommend opting for the 256GB model, as storage can’t be expanded, and 128GB may feel limited.
With its Exynos 2400e, the phone performs well, and its 50+8+12MP camera setup is enhanced by a 75mm 3x telephoto lens. The battery is a standard 5,000mAh with 25W wired charging, plus 15W wireless charging—a rarity at this price point. Additionally, it promises 7 years of OS and security updates.
The Samsung Galaxy A56 is nearly £180 less expensive for the same 8/256GB configuration. However, the 2400e outperforms the Exynos 1580 by 70-80% or more, so these savings come with compromises, including the absence of a telephoto camera. The A56 features 45W wired charging for its slightly larger 5,000mAh battery (compared to 4,700mAh for the FE), but does not offer wireless charging. The A56 is set to receive 6 years of support, but given it’s one year newer than the S24 FE, both will be supported until around the same time.

Additionally, both phones include a free Samsung Galaxy Watch7. Currently, you can only acquire the 40mm model, priced just above £200 (£290 MSRP). This watch features a 1.3” display and a 300mAh battery. You can find more details about the offer and claim your watch here.

A quick reminder: the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge launches next week. During the pre-order phase, you can receive a free storage upgrade to 512GB, along with £100 in Samsung Credit. Additionally, Amazon has recently added a £100 discount available to Prime Student members that wasn’t there last week.

The Poco X7 Pro has seen its price drop to £240 for the base 8/256GB model and £270 for the 12/512GB variant, which offers a decent upgrade for an additional £30. Just three weeks ago, these prices were £285 and £327, respectively.

The standard Poco X7 is also slightly cheaper, but the Pro model delivers better bang for your buck. Transitioning from a Dimensity 8400 Ultra with UFS 4.0 storage (X7 Pro) to a Dimensity 7300 Ultra with UFS 2.2 storage (X7) results in a noticeable performance drop, especially in GPU capabilities. You also sacrifice battery capacity (5,110mAh vs. 6,000mAh) and charging speed (45W vs. 90W), impacting battery performance.

The Poco F7 Pro comes with a price tag that is £160 higher than the X7 Pro, but its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor is only slightly faster. While it boasts other upgrades such as higher screen resolution (1440p+ vs. 1220p+), a larger main camera sensor (1/1.55” vs. 1/1.95”), and Wi-Fi 7, the price hike may be hard to justify.

Lastly, the Poco F7 Ultra remains at its previous week’s price, an additional £160 increase. Nonetheless, this model features the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, along with a 50MP 2.5x/60mm telephoto camera and an upgraded 32MP ultra-wide camera (compared to 8MP).
Its 5,300mAh battery is smaller but supports both 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. Although there’s a notable difference in capacity, the battery life ends up being roughly equivalent. For camera samples and more details comparing the Poco F7 Pro and F7 Ultra, check out our dedicated article.
