This week brought us several new products and thrilling updates regarding the Android 16 launch.
The Samsung Galaxy A56 took quite a while to arrive, but it was certainly worth the anticipation, especially with a €100 discount. It features an aluminum frame and a quicker Exynos 1580 chipset compared to the A36, along with improved camera technology. Just weeks ago, you might have spotted the Galaxy S24 FE (128GB) for approximately €500, but those offers have vanished to make way for the A56.
Although the discount is smaller, both versions of the Galaxy A36 (128GB and 256GB) remain below €400. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset lags in performance when compared to the Exynos, and you’ll need to settle for a plastic frame – both models utilize GG Victus+ on the front and back and boast IP67 ratings (although this doesn’t carry the same impressiveness for mid-range devices as it once did). Both feature 6.7” 120Hz 1080p+ OLED displays and 5,000mAh batteries with 45W wired-only charging. They come with the refreshed One UI 7 pre-installed and will receive 6 major OS updates.

The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion became available for pre-order last week and is now offered at a price that is €50 lower than a Galaxy A36 with an equivalent memory setup (8/256GB). It boasts a superior display, featuring a 6.67” curved 10-bit panel with a 1220p+ resolution, alongside a comparable Dimensity 7300 chipset with microSD support.
While its camera boasts superior hardware on paper and delivers solid image quality, Motorola still needs to refine its camera app. The battery has a slightly larger capacity at 5,200mAh and supports 68W wired-only charging. Though this device only utilizes Gorilla Glass 7i, it possesses an IP69 rating – illustrating our point about IP67 being less impressive now.

Earlier this week, Xiaomi launched the Android 16 Developer Preview, providing ROMs for two devices: the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro. Please note that these ROMs are unsuitable for daily use, but they clearly demonstrate that Xiaomi is ahead of many competitors.
The Xiaomi 14T Pro is intriguing – with ongoing discounts, it can be purchased for €580. As a late 2024 model, it initially launched with Android 14 and was updated to Android 15 in November.
Powered by a Dimensity 9300+ chipset, this phone features a 6.67” 12-bit 144Hz OLED display and a triple camera setup, which includes a 50MP 1/1.31” main camera, a 50MP 2.6x (60mm) telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, in addition to a 5,000mAh battery that supports 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. It sports an aluminum frame along with an IP68 rating, ensuring it doesn’t skimp on features despite the lower price.

The Xiaomi 15 is a compact flagship, featuring a 6.36” 12-bit 120Hz LTPO display. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite and houses an even more advanced camera system: with a 50MP 1/1.31” main, a 50MP 2.6x (60mm, tele macro) telephoto, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Thanks to Si/C technology, its battery capacity is superior at 5,240mAh, supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The OnePlus 13 is also gearing up for Android 16, having received its second beta earlier this week. This device utilizes the Snapdragon 8 Elite but offers a larger form factor with a 6.82” 10-bit 120Hz LTPO display. It also sports a triple 50MP camera setup, featuring a 1/1.43” main sensor and a 3x (73mm) periscope telephoto. The battery capacity is correspondingly larger at 6,000mAh, with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging options.

The Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro launched back in March but faced inconsistent availability lately. Fortunately, they are now restocked on Amazon, albeit without any discounts as of now. Let’s take a quick look: both phones feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, boast 6.77” 10-bit 120Hz 1080p+ OLED displays, and come with 5,000mAh batteries that support 50W wired-only charging. Each has a 50MP main camera paired with an 8MP ultra-wide; the distinction lies in their telephoto modules – the regular model features a 50MP 2x (50mm) lens, while the Pro has a 50MP 3x (70mm) lens.

Samsung recently unveiled new FE tablets, which are now available. Both devices are powered by the latest Exynos 1580, the same used in the Galaxy A56, and feature 90Hz IPS LCD screens. Notably, both tablets are currently discounted at checkout, which we’ve reflected in the pricing below. Moreover, 5G models can be obtained for an additional €100 compared to their Wi-Fi counterparts.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE sports a 10.9” 1440p+ display and is equipped with an 8,000mAh battery and 45W charging capability. This generation is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the Tab S9 FE (6.0mm, 497g vs. 6.5mm, 523g). The 128GB model is currently out of stock, but it’s worth keeping an eye on. You might consider opting for the 256GB version, as it features an upgrade to 12GB of RAM instead of 8GB.

The Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ has seen an increase in size with a 13.1” 1800p+ panel, while retaining the same 10,090mAh battery as the Tab S9 FE+. This generation has eliminated the ultra-wide camera, but the rear now features an updated 13MP main camera. Both tablets include an S Pen in the retail package and come with expandable storage options.
