Man Who Alleged Corruption by KCR in Kaleshwaram Project Found Murdered

In Hyderabad, N Rajalingamurthy, a man who filed a court complaint against former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao over alleged corruption in the Medigadda barrage construction, was murdered. Police reported he was stabbed to death by two unidentified assailants during a land dispute while riding his motorcycle. Despite Rajalingamurthy’s accusations involving the Kaleshwaram project and a court case seeking an FIR against KCR, authorities have ruled out a political motive in the homicide. The investigation is ongoing, and a case has been registered following the incident. Rajalingamurthy had previously expressed concerns about structural issues with the barrage.
Hyderabad:

A man who filed a lawsuit against former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and others, alleging corruption in the construction of the Medigadda barrage as part of the Kaleshwaram project, was found murdered on Wednesday in Jayashankar Bhupalpally town, according to police.

Authorities, however, dismissed any political implications regarding the incident, stating that N Rajalingamurthy, in his 50s, was killed over land disputes by two unidentified individuals.

As he rode his motorcycle around 7:30 pm on Wednesday, Rajalingamurthy was ambushed by the two assailants who then stabbed him. A police official reported that he succumbed to his injuries while being transported to a hospital.

A case has been filed, and an investigation is underway, police confirmed.

In October 2023, Rajalingamurthy lodged a private complaint in court, requesting an FIR against KCR and others after several piers of the Medigadda barrage “sank”.

KCR, along with his nephew and former minister T Harish Rao, later approached the Telangana High Court, which in December of the previous year, suspended an order issued by the principal district sessions judge in Jayashankar Bhupalpally that had allowed a petition against them.
