New Delhi:

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a notification concerning the pending Eligibility Certificate (EC) applications among medical students. The commission has published a list of applicants who have traveled abroad without securing an Eligibility Certificate. To provide students with additional time, the board has stated that applications from those who do not rectify the deficiencies by the deadline will be promptly rejected.

In addition to the list, all applicants who have yet to receive their Eligibility Certificates are encouraged to promptly address any noted deficiencies at the earliest opportunity.

According to section 13(48) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, which details clause 13 regarding the recognition of medical qualifications, “(48) A person who is a citizen of India shall not, after a date specified by the Central Government under sub-section (3), be eligible for admission to any medical institution in a foreign country for obtaining a medical qualification without an eligibility certificate issued by the council.”

“Addressing the deficiencies in a timely manner will streamline the processing of applications for eligibility certificates and assist the applicants in advancing their respective pursuits. This notification has been issued with the approval of the Competent Authority,” the statement further indicated.

Candidates are encouraged to visit the official NMC website to view the names of students with outstanding eligibility applications.
