Notable political figures, such as Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, and Union minister Ram Mohan Naidu, visited the Maha Kumbh on Wednesday, where they took a sacred dip at the Sangam, according to officials.

Ms. Sitharaman, accompanied by family members, referred to the occasion as a “significant moment” within the Sanatan tradition, as stated by officials.

Emphasizing the global importance of the Maha Kumbh, Tejasvi Surya, BJP MP from Bangalore South, remarked, “Today, I had the honor of taking a dip in the Sangam alongside hundreds of BJYM members. No event of this magnitude has ever been held anywhere globally. The most remarkable aspect of the Maha Kumbh is its spirit of unity, uniting people from all over the country and beyond.” Mr. Surya is the president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated, “This tradition has been upheld for generations. I feel privileged to have experienced and participated in the Maha Kumbh during my lifetime. The energy and positivity here are remarkable.”

Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde also conveyed his appreciation for being part of a “once-in-a-lifetime” occasion.

“Maha Kumbh occurs once every 144 years, and I consider myself fortunate to witness it. Millions have come here to take a holy dip, creating a truly magnificent spiritual gathering,” Mr. Shinde shared.
