New York City will experience its first 7 p.m. sunset of the season this week.

New York City is enjoying the arrival of spring with temperatures reaching the high 50s and low 60s, and sunset times approaching 7 p.m. The first 7 p.m. sunset is expected this Wednesday, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, although Date and Time suggests it may occur a day later. This week’s sunset times are 6:57 p.m. on Monday and 6:59 p.m. on Tuesday. By early May, the city might experience its first 8 p.m. sunset. Daylight saving time recently began, giving residents more daylight in the evenings, and clocks will revert on November 2.

This week, New York City is enjoying an early glimpse of spring as temperatures rise into the high 50s and low 60s, with sunsets approaching 7 p.m.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac indicates that New York City’s first 7 p.m. sunset will occur this Wednesday, although Date and Time suggests it might be on Thursday instead.

In the days leading up, the sunset times will get closer. On Monday, the sun is expected to set at 6:57 p.m., while on Tuesday, it will set at 6:59 p.m., as reported by the National Weather Service.

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, the city might experience its first 8 p.m. sunset by early May.

Over the weekend, New Yorkers adjusted their clocks forward by one hour for daylight saving time, sacrificing an hour of sleep in exchange for more daylight. Clocks will revert back on Nov. 2.
