Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra may not fully abandon the S Pen, but its functionality is diminished compared to earlier models like the Note9. While Motorola’s Moto G Stylus series targets entry-level to mid-range markets and is available mainly in the US, the upcoming Moto Edge 60 Stylus is expected to range from mid-range to flagship levels, with wider availability. Rumored prices suggest the Edge 60 Stylus will be between €380 for the base Edge 60 and €600 for the Pro model. The device will feature the stylus and a 3.5mm headphone jack, but it’s unclear if it will support microSD.
Is Samsung considering abandoning the S Pen? While that may not be the case, the stylus on the Galaxy S25 Ultra offers significantly less functionality compared to its predecessors, dating back to the Note9 from 2018. Not that there’s much competition from other devices featuring a built-in stylus. Aside from Motorola’s Moto G Stylus models, which are positioned between entry-level and mid-range.
Motorola appears to be shifting its strategy – Evan Blass has shared a render of what is expected to be the Moto Edge 60 Stylus. Unlike the G-series, the Edge line spans from mid-range to flagship devices.
Another distinction is that Moto G Stylus phones are primarily available in the US, whereas the Edge Stylus is rumored to have broader availability. However, the extent of this availability is still uncertain, as seen with the Moto Edge 50 Ultra which wasn’t released in the US, for instance.
Leaked image: Motorola Edge 60 Stylus
Earlier today, there was a significant leak regarding the pricing of the Moto Edge 60 series. The Edge 60 Stylus is expected to be a variation of the standard Edge 60. The standard model is rumored to be priced at €380, while a more advanced Pro version will be available for €600. The Stylus variant will likely fall somewhere in that range.
In any case, the render indicates that the Motorola Edge 60 Stylus will feature not only the stylus itself but also a 3.5mm headphone jack on its bottom side. However, it remains uncertain whether it will include a microSD slot as Moto G Stylus phones typically have one, whereas Moto Edge phones usually do not.
Regardless, this could be an interesting offering – a mid-range smartphone equipped with a built-in stylus. Although there’s no word yet on when Motorola will reveal the Edge 60 series, the pricing details often come towards the conclusion of the development process. If pricing has been leaked, the unveiling should be imminent.
