Many Indians are relocating abroad for better career opportunities and economic stability, with popular destinations including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Singapore. However, this move can bring challenges such as homesickness and cultural adjustments. Aniruddha Anjana, an Indian entrepreneur, shared his decision to return to India after over a decade in the US, driven by a desire to care for his aging parents rather than visa issues or job loss. He emphasized that the choice enriched his life and highlighted the importance of familial bonds, resonating deeply with others on social media who expressed similar sentiments.
In search of improved career opportunities and financial stability, many Indians have chosen to move overseas. Nations such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Singapore are becoming focal points, providing avenues for professional growth and economic success. Yet, this relocation often introduces its own challenges. Numerous Indians find it difficult to adjust to the new cultural environment, battling homesickness and the emotional toll of being away from family.
Recently, Indian entrepreneur Aniruddha Anjana, co-founder and CEO of ArcAligned, shared an inspiring reason for his return to India after over a decade in the US. Defying common beliefs about visa challenges or job losses, Mr. Anjana disclosed on Instagram that his motivation for coming back was to support his aging parents. He made it clear that his decision was not prompted by layoffs, immigration fears, or career difficulties, but stemmed from a genuine wish to be there for his family.
“When I last posted about returning to India after living in the U.S. for more than 10 years because my parents needed me, I received many comments assuming that I must have lost my job or encountered visa problems. But the truth is, I wanted to cherish moments with my parents—who have sacrificed so much for me—knowing they would never ask me to return,” the video was captioned on Instagram.

“This was the sole reason for my return, and after a year, I can wholeheartedly say it was the best decision of my life. I have certainly added years to their lives—and to my own,” he expressed.
In a previous post, he reflected on what prompted his departure from the United States. He mentioned feeling trapped in a monotonous corporate environment, where he was losing his personal identity and becoming increasingly robotic. This realization inspired him to escape the corporate cycle and pursue a more meaningful existence.
Aniruddha’s touching story resonated with social media users, who shared their thoughts in the comments section. In response to his post, one user said, “I believe whatever brings joy to your inner soul, whether it’s staying in the USA or coming back home. Life is beautiful and challenging on both fronts.”
Another commenter remarked, “Returning to one’s homeland is indeed the best decision. I can relate to this.” A third user added, “That’s called values… This reflects well on your upbringing. In today’s world, where many view living in the U.S. as a status symbol—especially among middle-class Indians—it’s disheartening to see parents left behind in their late 70s to ‘enjoy life’ in the U.S. It’s refreshing to see individuals like you who prioritize family.”
