NBC’s new cooking competition show, “Yes, Chef!”, features hosts Martha Stewart and José Andrés as they challenge 12 professional chefs to not only excel in cooking but also in collaboration, as they compete for a $250,000 prize. The show addresses out-of-control behavior often seen in high-pressure kitchen environments, with hosts aiming to foster a supportive atmosphere. A new trailer highlights tensions among the chefs, showcasing their competitive spirit and individual struggles. “Yes, Chef!” premieres on April 28 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, following “The Voice,” and is produced by Magical Elves and Religion of Sports, among others.
Numerous reality show participants have stood before the camera and declared, “I didn’t come here to make friends; I came here to win.” However, on NBC’s latest cooking competition series, the chefs may indeed need to forge friendships alongside creating breathtaking dishes if they hope to secure the $250,000 grand prize.

“For far too long, the demands of the kitchen have been used as an excuse for outrageous behavior,” Martha states in the new clip (see below). “We’ve assembled 12 professional chefs, all facing a common hurdle: themselves.”
The trailer showcases some of the unruly conduct that Martha and José seek to rectify. One contestant brags about having “cooked asparagus next to Julia Child,” while another self-centered competitor snatches all the eggs in a bid for an unfair edge over others, leading another chef to label him an “arrogant, pompous little-man syndrome chef.”
“Wow, it feels like Hunger Games!” José remarks.

The hosts are well-suited to guide the dozen chefs toward becoming their finest selves; José is a reputable and forthright humanitarian, while Martha is a home-keeping authority who has navigated her share of controversies. (“Martha and I, we’re no saints,” José mentions in the trailer, to which Martha humorously responds, “I am!”)
“In our kitchen, merely good food isn’t enough to win. You’ll have to learn how to collaborate,” Martha emphasizes.
“This is your opportunity to revamp your careers and yourselves,” José adds.
