The couple, Krishnakumar and Sangeetha, allegedly had ongoing disputes that may have triggered the tragic incident, according to police. They are survived by two young daughters, Ameesha and Akshara.
On Monday morning, Krishnakumar, 52, left his family home in Vandazhi, Kerala, and traveled 83 kilometers to Coimbatore. There, he met Sangeetha, a teacher at a private school. It is alleged that an argument ensued, culminating in Krishnakumar fatally shooting her.
Afterward, Krishnakumar returned to his vehicle and drove back home. Upon his arrival, he tragically shot himself in front of his father, reportedly using an air gun.
Startled by the sound of gunfire, neighbors notified the police, who arrived at the scene and discovered Sangeetha’s body lying in a pool of blood, as reported.
According to the police, Krishnakumar had prohibited Sangeetha from maintaining a friendship with her boyfriend. Several reports indicate that the couple had been living separately and had contemplated legal separation.
