Paris:
French President Emmanuel Macron stated in a national address on Wednesday that European military forces could be deployed to Ukraine following a peace agreement, to ensure that Russia does not make further attempts to invade its neighbor.
Macron mentioned that a peace accord for Ukraine might be supported “potentially, by the presence of European forces.” He clarified, “They won’t engage in combat today, they won’t be on the front lines, but they will be present once a peace agreement is established to guarantee its full adherence.” He added that European military leaders are scheduled to convene in Paris next week to explore ways to assist Ukraine after a peace agreement is reached.
