A 25-year-old woman from Macomb County, Michigan, Alexandra Wilk, won $1 million in the Michigan Lottery after following her intuition to buy a ticket at a 7-Eleven. Initially shocked at the win, she called her mother, who cried tears of joy. Wilk described the money as life-changing for her and her daughter, stating, “My future just got so much brighter.” She opted for a lump-sum payment of approximately $694,000 and plans to purchase a home, a new car, and save for her family’s future.
MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A resident of Macomb County shared that following her instincts led to a $1 million win in the Michigan Lottery.
25-year-old Alexandra Wilk mentioned that she occasionally plays the lottery, but on one particular day, she felt compelled to purchase a ticket.
“I stopped by 7-Eleven to grab a few items, and I felt I should heed that little voice I had been hearing all day,” she recounted. “After scratching the ticket in my car, I initially thought I had received a joke ticket because seeing that I had won $1 million was beyond belief. After I calmed down, I called my mom and she was overwhelmed with emotion.”
Wilk stated that this amount would significantly change her life and her daughter’s, saying, “My future has just become so much more promising,” she added.
She purchased her winning ticket at the 7-Eleven located on 21 Mile Road in Macomb.
Wilk opted to take her winnings as a lump-sum payment of around $694,000.
She has plans to buy a house and a new vehicle, while saving the remainder for her and her daughter’s future.
