Lava is set to launch two new 4G Android smartphones in India: the Bold N1 and Bold N1 Pro, with prices under ₹7,000. The Bold N1, priced at ₹6,000, runs on Android 14 Go Edition, while the Pro model, at ₹6,800 (with a launch discount), operates on full Android 14. Both models feature 5,000mAh batteries, but the Pro supports faster charging and has a better camera setup. The Pro also offers more RAM (4GB vs. 3GB) and storage (128GB expandable) compared to the N1. They come with basic IP54 protection and a one-year warranty.
Lava is set to unveil a new series of smartphones in India next week – the two Bold models are 4G Android devices priced below ₹7,000. This lineup includes a Pro version running Android 14 and a standard model with Android 14 Go Edition.
Lava Bold N1 Pro
Aside from the pricing, the key difference lies in the features – the Lava Bold N1 is priced at ₹6,000 and will be available on Amazon India starting June 4 (Wednesday). Go Edition is optimized for lower resource usage, making it suitable for devices with just 4GB of RAM. While this isn’t bad, some Go Edition devices released this year have started at 3GB.
Lava Bold N1
The Lava Bold N1 Pro is priced at ₹6,800 but comes with a ₹100 discount during the launch period. This model will be available on June 2 (Monday) via Amazon India.
The Pro features standard Android but is still running an earlier version, Android 14. Both phones are guaranteed 1 OS update and 2 years of security patches, which would upgrade them to Android 15 – soon to become outdated.
The Bold N1 Pro is powered by the Unisoc T606 and a 5,000mAh battery
The Bold N1 Pro is equipped with a more advanced chipset – the Unisoc T606 (28nm, 8x Cortex-A55 @ 1.6GHz, PowerVR GE8322 GPU) – while the standard N1 utilizes an unspecified Unisoc chip. The Pro also offers 4GB of RAM, which is somewhat limiting with the full Android experience (Keep in mind that Go Edition typically uses lighter apps). Furthermore, the Pro boasts more storage – 128GB initially, expandable to 256GB, whereas the N1 only has 64GB.
We mentioned earlier that the selection between full Android and Go Edition, combined with pricing, will largely guide buyers toward either model.
Lava Bold N1 Pro highlights
This choice will be significant, but the Lava Bold N1 Pro additionally sports superior camera capabilities – a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, compared to a simple 13MP rear and 5MP front for the standard N1.
The N1 has a larger 6.75” LCD, while the Pro features a 6.67” display. Both models offer 720p+ resolution, but the Pro stands out with a higher refresh rate – 120Hz compared to 90Hz for the N1. Both devices have side-mounted fingerprint scanners and support face unlock (though the fingerprint reader is significantly faster).
Lava Bold N1 with a 5,000mAh/10W battery and 13MP/5MP cameras
While both smartphones are equipped with 5,000mAh batteries, the Pro theoretically supports quicker charging. It comes with a 10W charger included, but can handle up to 18W. The standard model lacks an in-box charger and is capped at 10W charging.
The two N1 variants are rated IP54, providing basic resistance against dust and water splashes. They also include Lava’s Service@Home, meaning a technician will come to you for repairs instead of needing to visit a service center, along with a 1-year warranty.
