Itel introduces the Power 70: an affordable smartphone featuring an oversized battery.

The Itel Power 70 features a substantial 6,000 mAh battery and an additional 4,000 mAh charging case, totaling 10,000 mAh capacity. It measures 165.92 x 77.31 x 7.98 mm and weighs 200 grams. Priced under $85, it offers a well-rounded package, including a 6.67-inch HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Helio G50 chipset, and up to 8GB of RAM. Storage options include up to 256GB, expandable via microSD. The camera setup consists of a 13MP rear and 8MP front camera, with video capture limited to 1080p. It lacks NFC but includes dual SIM slots and a fingerprint reader.

The Itel Power 70 presents a compelling overall package. To begin with, let’s consider its standout feature – the battery capacity. The device is equipped with a substantial yet manageable 6,000 mAh internal battery. This allows it to retain reasonable dimensions, measuring 165.92 x 77.31 x 7.98 mm and weighing in at 200 grams. The “catch” here is the extra 4,000 mAh charging case that Itel is including as a promotional gift upon launch. This effectively raises the total battery capacity to 10,000 mAh (excluding charging losses). The Power 70 does not feature wireless charging; therefore, the case connects to the device’s Type-C port and utilizes its 18W wired charging functionality.

Regarding pricing, the Itel Power 70, along with the charging case, will be priced at under $85. That’s quite an enticing deal. While you shouldn’t expect exceptional hardware at this price point, the Power 70 appears to be well-rounded on paper. It sports a 6.67-inch HD+, 120Hz LCD that offers a peak brightness of 700 nits. Itel refers to it as a “Sunlight Display,” suggesting it should perform decently even in bright sunlight. However, we remain skeptical. Itel also claims that the display “supports wet and oily touch control”.

The other specifications feature a MediaTek Helio G50 Ultimate chipset, accompanied by up to 8GB of RAM. Storage options include 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, 4GB/256GB, and 8GB/256GB. Unfortunately, the storage type is eMMC 5.1, but it can be expanded via a microSD card.

In the camera category, it includes a single 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. Video recording is limited to 1080p. Additionally, the device comes with two Nano-SIM slots, a single loudspeaker, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Unfortunately, NFC support is absent.
