New Zealand won the series 2-0 after a washout. Additionally, Gaze injured her left hip flexor, with rehabilitation timelines under review. Jensen and James are still not fit. Coach Ben Sawyer praised the promising starts of Bree and Polly and highlighted Flora’s potential. The T20I series begins on March 14 in Christchurch, with matches scheduled for March 16 and 18.

Inglis and Illing made their international debuts during the ODI series last week, while Devonshire has yet to make her appearance. Inglis impressed by taking five catches over three matches and scoring 34 not out and 9 not out in her two batting opportunities. Illing claimed four wickets throughout three games, notably dismissing Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu on two occasions. New Zealand secured the series with a 2-0 victory after the first match was rained out.

Gaze, who participated in the ODI series as a specialist batter, suffered a sprain to her left hip flexor while fielding during the third ODI. “Her rehabilitation timelines are being reviewed,” stated NZC in a press release. Both Jensen and James, who were ruled out prior to the ODI series, have not yet regained full fitness.

“We’re all supporting Izzy, Hayley, and Bella,” commented head coach Ben Sawyer. “It’s tough for the team and the players, but I have faith that those three will demonstrate the determination and resilience to recover.

“Bree and Polly made an excellent start to their ODI careers, displaying great intent and execution. I’m confident they are prepared for this next challenge. Flora has shown considerable all-round potential in domestic cricket and is yet another promising young player who possesses the qualities we seek in the White Ferns.”

The T20I series will commence on March 14 in Christchurch. The second match is scheduled for March 16 in Christchurch, followed by the final T20I in Dunedin on March 18.
