iPad (2025) Launches with A16 Chip, Lacks Apple Intelligence Features

Apple has introduced the new iPad (2025) alongside the iPad Air (2025), featuring a similar design to its 2022 predecessor. It is powered by a binned version of the A16 chip, incorporating one fewer CPU and GPU core, with base storage upgraded to 128GB. The device includes Bluetooth 5.3, an 11-inch 60Hz IPS LCD Liquid Retina display, dual 12MP cameras, and a Touch ID power button. Available colors are Silver, Blue, Pink, and Yellow, with the starting price for the Wi-Fi model set at $349. Deliveries are expected to begin on March 12.

Apple has unveiled its latest iPad Air (2025) models, alongside a newly designed eleventh-generation baseline iPad. Similar to its Air counterparts, the new iPad (2025) receives a modest specification upgrade while retaining the same core design as its 2022 predecessor.

The iPad (2025) features a binned version of the Apple A16 chip, which was first introduced in 2022 with the iPhone 14 Pro series. The A16 in the iPad (2025) has one fewer CPU and GPU core. While Apple has not specified the RAM capacity, it can be presumed to be under 8GB since the device does not support Apple Intelligence. The base storage has increased to 128GB, replacing the previous 64GB option from the tenth generation iPad.

Another notable feature is the inclusion of Bluetooth 5.3, which supersedes the 5.2 version on the previous tenth-generation iPad. The rest of the specifications include an 11-inch 60Hz IPS LCD Liquid Retina display, dual 12MP cameras, and a Touch ID sensor embedded in the power button.
